Pirate Of The Day
In case you missed this on Braden River High School website (webmaster Dan Crumpler) today (8/26) here is the Pirate-Of-The-Day!
Will Paterson is looking forward to achieving many big things this school year.
He has won first place in the district competition in web design for FBLA two years
in a row. He has been working with his dad on a website for baseball over the summer.
This year he hopes to continue FBLA competition and to go for a 3rd district title.
Will also plays on the varsity baseball team. Since baseball has become more of a business,
he hopes to use what he is learning in his classes to help him get into college and to pay the bills.

Vacation
The Patersons just spent a great 10 days visiting Chattanooga TN, Newark, OH, and Cincinnati, OH.
We started out in Chattanooga where we went White Water Rafting in the Ocoee River and visited the Tennessee Aquarium. We had fun both days.
We then went on to Newark, OH. William attended a baseball showcase put on at the Babe Ruth fields. One of the coaches who gave the boys a lot of advise was Coach Polk who previously coached the USA baseball team.
Lastly, we went to Cincinnati Reds game on 7/27. We stayed in KY which is just across the river from the Cincinnati baseball and football fields.

The Patersons White Water Rafting
The Paterson family went white water rafting on Monday in the Ocoee River. We had a great day of fun. There was only one mishap, when Alan fell off the raft. He got trapped under another raft but they were able to take him out of the water and bring him to our raft. When we reached the calm portion Alan and William went over and swam for a few minutes. It was great for Alan to jump back in after his previous experience. As you can see, William was able to ride the front of the raft "Riding the Bull" it is called. The water was cold but refreshing. Thanks to all those who encouraged our Mum to go. We really had a good time.

Happy New Year!
To: All our friends and family,
Alan with Grandma's dog Mitzy
Connor, Sarah, Paul, William, and Alan
Happy New Year!
We left Bradenton on Christmas morning flew to Detroit, then on to Amsterdam, and landed in Glasgow Scotland on December 26th or 'Boxing Day'. We stayed at a really nice Bed and Breakfast just a mile away from Jim's mum and dad's house. We walked up to the house in the mornings and walked back to our B&B at night. The weather was really nice the temperatures ranged from 1 to 5 degrees Celsius but the most important part was that we had NO RAIN. This was the first time we have been to Scotland and did not experience the rain and winds. The frost was on the ground in the mornings but very seldom remained throughout the day, the sun burnt it off. We actually saw the sun for about four days out of seven, wow!
We left Scotland on January 1st and landed in Florida about 1 am on January 2nd. Came back the reverse route via Amsterdam and Detroit. All flights were on time but with all the immigration and security procedures traveling is just not fun anymore.
Well, it is time to get back to the regular routines, Jim is back to work, he started on Friday, William and Alan get back to school on Tuesday, and Marjorie will be subbing on Tuesday and starting two classes at USF on Monday.
Our wish for you is to have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Happy Birthday William!
This is William with his namesake watching TV.
William turned 17 years old in Scotland on December 27th. He had birthday lunch with his Uncle Billy, his wife Maureen and their children Sarah, Paul, and Connor. He had dinner at a local hotel with his Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Grace and her husband Ricky, Uncle George, his wife Megs and daughters Claire and Meghan, and mum, dad, and Alan. He really enjoyed spending his day with all his relatives.
